Leave it to spammers to find every possible way to draw eyeballs. Bonzi.com (I’m not linking them because they SUCK) is engaging in web log spamming — they hunt down webloggers in cyberspace, especially ones that use tools like BlogPatrol, and send bogus page refers to the site–making it look like a link from their site drove traffic to the blog.
Naturally, bloggers follow these alleged links to see what was up with the refer, and BAM! They get suckered into a page view of some lame retail site. Even worse, these sites often have spyware associated with them (like Bonzi’s alleged BonziBuddy).
So, all you refer-log ego trippers out there, beware…
